The Activities & Recreation Ministry at Providence Baptist Church provides a non-threatening entry into the church for those who are looking for a place to worship. It gives the members, guests, and visitors, a place to enjoy recreational activities and maintain their physical fitness in a Christian environment. Whether it is with the athletic leagues such as softball, basketball, volley and soccer, or summer camps and church fellowships, the Activities Ministry tries to provide the church family recreational outlets for Providence and the Community.

The Activities Center is equipped with a Nautilus weight room and a game room with pool tables, bumper pool, ping pong, and foosball. There is also a full size gym and indoor walking track. Outside facilities include a soccer field, softball field, youth ball field, outdoor track, and age appropriate playground equipment.

Some of the special activities are: rafting trip on the Nantahala River, Community Fun Day, a Fall Festival in October, the Easter Rock Hunt, and Anniversary Sunday with Dinner on the Grounds in May. All of these are designed to Connect People and God in Christ through Worship, Fellowship, and Missions.

Flag Football and soccer were offered for the Fall, 2009.  We have just completed a successful season for these two sports for children.  Basketball season has now arrived and several teams and leagues have been formed.

Providence Rec. Ministry
 

Randy Ballard, Recreation/Activities Director has been on Providence's staff since 1997.  He and his family have been members of the church for many years.  He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and has worked as a municipal recreational director.  Randy directs the Recreation and Activities ministries of the church that includes sports, outings, trips, theater, and numerous other events.  He may be contacted at 704-366-4030 x133 or email:  RANDY BALLARD.
