THE CHAPEL/MISSIONS CENTER is the oldest AND the newest addition to our campus at 4921 Randolph Road. The Chapel is the original building constructed by the congregation and the first building on the property in 1954. The 6,600 square feet Missions Center was built in 2008-09 to be a facility through which and from which missions activities could be facilitated. To accomplish this task, the original Chapel was relocated to its current site and remodeled. The Missions Center was constructed as an adjoining building providing the congregation with a complex suited for many and varied ministries.
The majority of the construction work on the Chapel/Missions Center was performed by volunteer members of the church. The general contractor on the project, Bradley Construction, had experience with "Habitat for Humanity" building endeavors. More than 150 volunteers of all ages worked on approximately 145 days, side by side with licensed contractors and skilled craftsmen, to accomplish the task.
A drawing of the floor plan for the Chapel Sanctuary and Missions Center is now available. Please CLICK HERE in order to access the pdf drawing. This drawing is formatted on letter-size paper in the event you would like to print it. The complex was dedicated on December 7, 2008, exactly one year from the date of the first wall-raising on the building. The Missions Center portion of the complex is named the Mary Nalley Missions Center in honor of Mary Nalley, a long-time member who has been active in mission activities.
Pictured below is a portion of the congregation that gathered for the Dedication Service on December 7, 2008. The Chapel/Missions Center is already being used for Room in the Inn, Family Promise, Rama Road Tutoring, GA's, the Burmese worship services, host to various out-of-town overnight mission groups, and numerous ministry related group meetings.
