Special Opportunities for Children in Grades 3-5!

Acolyte/Bible Bearer Training-All children in 4th and 5th grades are welcome to become worship leaders and serve as Acolytes and Bible Bearers for the 11:00 Worship Service.  You must attend training prior to serving.  We ask that one parent attend the training with their child.  Training will be offered on Sunday, September 5 and September 26 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.  You may sign up for either session.  A New Acolyte/Bible Bearer schedule will be prepared following the training and sent to parents of children who are participating.

Getting Ready Class-Is your child beginning to ask questions about becoming a Christian?  We invite older children in 3rd-5th grades who are thinking abou this important decision to participate in our "Getting Ready" class.  This 3 week class will be offered October 3, 10 and 17 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 2205.  (Children' will be dismissed from class to go to Sunday School.)  Your child must attend all 3 classes, and participation is limited to 8 students.

Children's Bible Drill-Would you like for your child to learn more about the Bible?  Children's Bible Drill is an excellent discipleship opportunity for children in 3rd-5th grades to learn Bible skills, key Bible passages and Bible verses.  We will begin Blble Drill on Sunday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 2232.  Parents are asked to join us for a part of our first class as we go over the Bible Drill schedule and our plans for the year.

Join us for our Fall Preschool Program!

We would love to have our child in our fall Preschool Program.  It runs from September through May from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day.  We accept infants (beginning at 8 weeks old)-our Transitional Kindergarten classes.  There are many choices of days to attend.  Our Preschool Program closes for 2 weeks in December and a week in the spring.   Age and readiness factors play into which class is best for each child. 

Our Preschool program serves children who are 8 weeks-5 years old (until children go to K).  Registration is first come first serve and spaces are limited. 

We use the Wee Learn curriculum to teach to all areas of a child's development (social, emotional, cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, and spiritual).  Our teachers do a fabulous job of varying the lesson plans to accommodate the variety of developmental levels and personalities in each classroom.

Because of the guidelines from the state of NC for hte public school systems, all children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 31st.  To comply with these guidelines and make a smooth transition for the children enrolled in our center, we are trying to implement these guidelines too.  Parents with children with birthdays in September or October can make the decision to repeat the age group in which they are currently enrolled or continue to the next class.  If your child continues to the next age group, they will just attend our Transitional Kindergarten program after the 4 yr old class.  If you have questions abou the best choice for your child, please discuss them with your child's teacher or the administrator.

Fall Fullcare Program

We also have a full-care program that runs from Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m-6:00 p.m. for Infants (8 weeks older and up)-Transitional Kindergarten.  If you are interested in this program, please contact the Weekday Office:  704 366 4030 X1129.
