This February, Providence will spend three weeks discovering our spiritual gifts. Together, we will investigate how God has called, gifted, and equipped us for our journey of faith. How will we do this? The Faith Formation Team will invite every member of Providence to take a Spiritual Gifts Inventory. This inventory is a tool that works much like any other personality test. Step One: Answer a few questions. Step Two: Analyze your results. And Step Three: Discover how God has uniquely gifted you.
In worship on February 2, we will read Micah 6:1-8 and consider: “How has God equipped us to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God?” On February 9, our scripture lesson will come from Matthew 5:13-20 as we consider how God has made us to be the “light of the world.” And on February 16, we will read 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 and discover how, as a Christian community, it is important for us to gather together, so that we may more purposefully participate in God’s will for our lives. This will be an exciting series of sermons and Sunday School conversations. I hope you will make plans to join us for these three Sundays in February.
