Much has occurred since the summer of 2006.  The church engaged Cargill Associates to direct our Capital Campaign for renovations and new space AND our 2007 Ministry Budget.  During the fall of 2006 these campaigns were conducted concurrently.  The families of Providence pledged approximately $5.1M to the Capital improvements.

In January 2007, the Facilities Planning Task-Force resumed meetings with the discussions centering on the next step or steps.  Their decision was to retain the architectural firm of WGM Design to work with the Task-Force to modify the original concept presented to the church during 2006.  This process is currently on-going and the Task-Force is reporting to the church as appropriately.

Early in 2007, an additional special gift was pledged toward the building of a Missions Center that could be a part of the Chapel Sanctuary relocation.  This was an exciting time as members of the Facilities Planning Task Force formed a Chapel/Missions Center sub-committee to explore the possibilities and report back to the full committee and ultimately the church.  On May 23, the church voted to relocate the Chapel Sanctuary AND build a 6,000 square footage Missions Center for current and future missions ministries of Providence.  The Missions Center component of the endeavor will be built in the fashion of a Habitat for Humanity project.

Bradley Construction Company has been retained as the General Contractor and this company has been involved in previous Habitat for Humanity buildings projects.  Three church members have been selected to enlist members of the church as volunteer workers, and to provide the proper safety environment.  Those three are:  Harold Eddins, Chris Squier, and Eric Gill.

As progress is made, this page of our web-site will be updated.   Members of the Task-Force have been encouraged by the expressed prayers of the congregation and they continue to request your prayers for divine leadership in the process in which they are engaged.

Please refer to the SUMMER2007 page for additional up-to-date information.
