GRADES 1 - 5
Our ministry for children in grades 1-5 seeks to continue to lay biblical foundations in their lives to prepare them to follow Christ. On Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m., Sunday School is offered to provide age graded Bible study opportunities. We use the BaptistWay Press curriculum with our school-age children. Children attend morning worship with their families at 8:30 or 11:00 a.m. Children's worship bulletins are provided to assist children as they participate in the worship service.
On Sunday evenings during the school year, Children's Bible Drill is offered for children in grades 3-5. Children's Bible Drill challenges older children to learn the books of the Bible, memorize 25 Bible verses and 10 key passages. Bible Drill begins in November. We ask that parents join us for our first class as we go over the Bible Drill schedule and plans. During the Spring of each year, Bible Buddies is offered to children in 1st and 2nd grades, which precedes Bible Drill in grades 3-5.
In the Fall and Spring of each year the Getting Ready Class is held for 3 weeks for 3rd-5th graders. This class is for children who are asking questions about their faith and who are thinking of joining the church.
On Wednesday evenings, children's choirs are offered at 5:45 p.m. Handbell and chimes groups for older children are also offered on Wednesdays. At 6:30 p.m., girls are involved in Girls in Action (GA's) and boys are involved in Royal Ambassadors (RA's) as they learn more about mission action and the work of missionaries around the world.
Many opportunities are offered for children through our Christian Life Center. We offer a soccer league for children in the fall and a basketball league during the winter months. During the summer, TeamKID Day Camp is offered for younger children and Crosspoint Sports Camp is offered for older children. Our Christian Life Center also offers Family Skating on Friday nights during which many of our children enjoy the time to play and skate with their friends.
Special events for children include the Easter Rock Hunt, "Getting Ready" classes (for those thinking about becoming Christians), Celebrate Children Sunday, Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival and the Children's Christmas Party.
