UPDATE FROM THE FACILITIES PLANNING TASK FORCE

Late in 2004, the church approved the creation of a Facilities Planning Task Force.

The Task Force, now called "Team" has been meeting monthly since January 2005. Much has been accomplished within the team and a consensus of opinion is about to emerge. Priorities have been established and the process of selecting an architect or program manager has begun. Occasional updates have been presented to the church since that time.

On April 2, the Task Force gave a update to the church as to the progress it was making. At that meeting, the report and presentation of the Task Force was announced for April 26 and April 30, with an additional Q & A session scheduled for May 3. Pictured to the right is Rod Coward. Rod recently retired after 28 years as the Teacher of the TTT Sunday School class at Providence. This is a remarkable record and an indication of Rod's faithfulness to the responsibility he elected to accept many years ago. Rod and Eva Coward have been members of Providence since 1978. He accepted the position as teacher of the class soon after joining Providence. A reception was held in Rod's honor at the home of another Providence SS Teacher as a means of saying "THANK YOU" for a job well-done.
