MISSION PROJECTS REPORT NIGHT for 2007 was held on Wednesday, August 22. This program, held in the Sanctuary gave the congregation an opportunity to HEAR and SEE the "stories" of the 2007 mission trips and projects.
The trips that reported through visual presentations were:
Special Delivery Trip to Eastern Kentucky; High School Choir Tour to South Dakota; Kentucky "Book Buddies;" Middle School Mission Project in Atlanta, Georgia; Kentucky Family Mission Trip; and the High School Mission Trip to South Dakota. The College Mission Trip to San Antonio, Texas in May had presented a visual report to the church earlier.
Representatives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were in attendance to make a presentation to our church. Officer Kathy Nichols honored Penny Hewett, for her leadership in Providence's twenty-five years of participation in the Police Christmas Project. During this time, Providence has provided all the hams for this project. As a result, the CMPD has delivered approximately 13,750 hams to families and touched the lives of over 41,250 kids.
