Bereavement Ministry
“A Special Way to Serve”
The Mission of the Bereavement Team is to serve and assist the family of members of Providence Baptist Church during times of loss and grief. This includes spouses, parents, and children of a member when the funeral/memorial service is held at Providence Baptist Church.
We serve families in the following ways:
- Providing and serving food, either during a reception before or after the Celebration of Life Service.
- Providing and serving a meal at the church either before or after the funeral for family and out-of-town guests.
- Pack-up left over food for family to take home.
- Clean up after meals.

Visitation Ministry
“Reaching out to others through empathy, compassion and care for our community”
The Mission of the Visitation Team is to serve, listen, and pray with the Providence Baptist Church community during difficult times such as medical concerns, divorce, hurt, loss and grief.
We serve families in the following ways:
- Making home visits, In-care facility visits and hospital visits to those we are caring for in our community.
- Weekly calls to our care receivers during their time of need.
- Sending cards so the care receiver knows that Providence Baptist Church is praying about their specific concerns.
- Celebrating with our care receiver on special occasions.
The team meets on a quarterly basis and reviews the care receivers’ situation. Interested in joining the Visitation Ministry? Contact our Minister of Pastoral Care, Martha Haigler.
Funerals
We offer funeral services to members and their immediate family. For more information or to plan a service, contact our Minister of Pastoral Care, Martha Haigler.
We also offer resources for End of Life Preparation with Faith.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is a Christian program of training and organizing laypersons for providing one-on-one Christ-centered care to those experiencing difficult life challenges in our congregation and community.
