Providence Presents

“Children of Eden” On May 3, the Providence Sanctuary will be transformed with a Spark of Creation, as Father (God) and a group of Storytellers bring “Children of Eden” to life. From musical theatre greats, Stephen Schwartz and John Caird, this inspirational, foot-stomping musical takes a look at timeless conflicts between parents and children through the prism of the Bible’s story of Genesis. Adam, Eve, Noah and the “Father” (who created them) deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet, but inspiring message: that “The Hardest Part of Love … Is Letting Go.”

We are excited to welcome Stephen Ware back to the stage as he reprises the role of Father alongside an amazing cast. Indeed, we have assembled a wonderful group of singers and actors to tell this timeless story—and, it’s only “The Beginning.” There are roles for children, students, and adults—and there’s still time to join the cast! If you are interested in being on stage with us, please contact Randy Ballard or me ASAP! We are also looking for volunteers to help with costumes, staging, sets, lighting, and so much more … it takes many folks working together to bring a show of this magnitude to life—so, if you’re willing to lend a hand, please let us know. As a church, it is our hope that this show will bless our church and community!

We ask for your prayerful support! You can also support the show in other ways: join the cast, volunteer for a crew, support the program financially, purchase tickets, invite friends and family … the list goes on and on. The family-friendly production will open May 3 and run through May 6. Tickets will be on sale during the month of April and in the days leading up to the show. Look for more information on the church website … and help us spread the word. Now, we begin …
