ACTIVITIES MANAGER

Job Type: Full-time

Overview: Providence is looking for an Activities Manager who is an excellent communicator, collaborates well with others, and can develop healthy working relationships with both staff members and the Providence membership at large. Providence seeks an enthusiastic individual who can plan, develop and execute engaging recreational and athletic programs for church members and the surrounding Cotswold community.


Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Director of Church Operations.
  • Have experience related to planning, implementing, and evaluating a broad spectrum of recreational programming, especially in a Christian environment.
  • Understand the business practices of budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting that are involved in managing revenue-generating and non-revenue generating activities.
  • Be proficient in programming youth and adult athletic leagues including, but not limited to, basketball, softball, and soccer. Experience working in collaboration with established community leagues, and the ability to create in-house leagues, is strongly preferred.
  • Manage the church’s Activity Center, including workout rooms, social and classroom space, gymnasium, and outdoor athletic fields. This includes monitoring cleanliness, safety, and physical plant needs and reporting issues as they arise.
  • Develop and update as needed standard operating procedures to ensure the safe and efficient use of Activity Center facilities and fields. Manage indoor and outdoor space rentals including the gym, fields, and gazebo.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time employees, volunteers, and volunteer coaches.
  • Be comfortable and confident speaking to groups, as well as teaching and coaching recreation-related activities.
  • Work with members of the church’s ministry team to plan, execute, and evaluate special events such as Vacation Bible School, summer day camps, and physical education sessions with our Child Development Center.
  • Collaborate as needed with the church’s Activities Committee.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and events as requested and complete other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Classification & Compensation:

  • The Activities Manager is a full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications up to $43,145 annually. Benefits include generous leave time (PTO), health insurance, health savings account, retirement, cell phone stipend, life insurance, and biweekly pay. The position is based on-site at Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte. Relocation assistance is not available. Church membership is not required.
