Providence Baptist Church is known as a big tent church. Our congregation is diverse. We come from various backgrounds and many come to us from other denominations. We describe ourselves as a moderate Baptist church, relating to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and our members hold varied opinions on social and theological issues, while being centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our church is looking for a Director of Operations who is an excellent communicator, collaborates well with others, and can develop healthy working relationships with both staff members and the Providence membership at large. We seek an individual who can balance the ministry priorities of the church with sound financial, personnel, and facility management practices in a way that strengthens, supports, and facilitates the overall mission of Providence Baptist Church.
The Director of Operations will:
Report to the Senior Pastor.
Provide logistical and strategic support for the senior ministry team as it leads the church in worship, programming, and outreach to the community.
Have both the experience and competence to oversee the personnel, media, and communications affairs of the church, as well as the repair, maintenance and improvement of its physical facilities and grounds. This individual will also demonstrate proficiency using the ACS/REALM System.
Supervise the church’s administrative and support staff by setting clear expectations, offering consistent feedback, and holding all employees to a high, but fair, standard of accountability.
Develop, maintain, and revise written policies and guidelines as needed to ensure administrative efficiency and integrity, as well as the overall safety and protection of the church and its members.
Represent the church and its interests to outside vendors, financial institutions, government agencies, legal offices, and other external organizations as needed.
Oversee the church’s Hospitality Ministry, including food service for Weekday Education Ministry and various church events throughout the year.
Serve as a staff liaison to the personnel, property, grounds, and endowment committees of the church, and assume other committee-related responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Be comfortable speaking, giving reports, and answering questions at quarterly church business meetings and other settings as necessary.

The Director of Activities Ministry leads the church in creating, planning, conducting, and evaluating programs of Christian recreation and activities for all age groups.
College degree in recreation (community or church) or combination of education and experience is required. Certification in recreation is preferred. Possess good communication skills, ability to work well with people, ability to function in a busy environment with multiple interruptions, orientation to detail, computer literacy and proficiency a must. Must be comfortable with technology and social media. Familiarity with Christian church program or non-profit agency required. Membership at Providence Baptist Church is not required.
The Director of Activities Ministry will:
Serve as first point of contact for all facets of recreation and activities ministry of the church.
Direct the creation, planning, coordination, conducting and evaluation of the recreation and activities ministry of the church.
Coordinate activities programs with other ministries.
Coordinate all team-sport activities/leagues, enlists coaches/referees, participant sign-ups, and serves as liaison to all leagues in which the church participates.
Enlist and train volunteer workers and paid staff for recreation events and the use of the Providence Activity Center and Sports Fields.
Coordinate with the HR Manager all interviews, new-hire documentation for paid staff.
Maintain Activity Center & Sports equipment and inventory, including appropriate care/maintenance of equipment.
Work with the Director of Operations to prepare, implement, and assure compliance with the recreation/activity ministry’s assigned line items in the church’s annual financial plan.
Maintain all records, including an operation manual, for proper functioning of the recreation and activities programs.
Form effective working relationships and rapport with members and staff.
