Bearing Witness Against Violence and Hatred
We, the ministry staff of Providence Baptist Church, stand with all people of good will who are committed to justice, kindness, humility, peace and mutual understanding. We believe with the Bible that “God so loved the world” (John 3:16), that God “desires everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth” (I Timothy 2:4), and that “God shows no partiality” (Acts 10:34).
We therefore condemn in the strongest possible terms the actions and ideologies of white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and all others who use violence and intimidation to promote and advance worldviews grounded in racial hatred. Not only do these groups have nothing to do with the Christian faith, they stand against everything that Jesus proclaimed, lived, and died for.
As part of our shared witness on behalf of the Prince of Peace, let us commit ourselves as Christians to viewing our brothers and sisters, from all places and of every skin color, as God sees us: As sinners who are less than we can be; and saints who are not yet what we ought to be. With God’s help, let us rise to far better callings together. Amen.
Sunday Worship at Providence
9:15am Sunday School
One may start out as just a member, but soon you realize you have become a part of a nurturing and loving family.
Providence is a welcoming and strong congregation with a heart for serving each other and the community, while building lasting relationships, and growing in our faith and understanding of Christ.
It's a second home where I can relax and have fun and worship God.
Providence is my “extended” family!
Worship at Providence is always meaningful to me, and touches some part of my life.
