HAITI DISASTER RELIEF

 An announcement and a time of prayer has been held in our worship services the past several weeks.  We will continue to pray for the Haitians who have suffered so much because of the earthquakes.  Our church is collecting disaster relief funds and forwarding them to CBF for disbursment through their reliable channels.  The possibility of volunteering to travel to Haiti is addressed on the CBF web-site.   We encourage you to continue  monitoring the CBF web-site and our web-site for additional information.

In the meantime, everyone is encourage to pray for the Haitian people and those who are providing aid to them following this natural disaster.  

Wednesday Night Adult Education Survey

Please take a few minutes to share your ideas regarding Wednesday night adult programming. Our goal is to have a well-rounded Adult Education Ministry at Providence. Thus, we strive to meet many needs on Wednesday nights, because Sunday mornings are dedicated to Bible Study and Worship. Some of you need a place to sit and relax with Christian friends in the middle of a hectic week. Others enjoy Bible Studies, book studies, topical studies, crafts, missions, exercise, etc. As we work toward offering a variety of opportunities, please help us by noting what you enjoy-as well as areas you might need to be challenged.

Through the generous donation to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship by an anonymous person, members of Providence Baptist Church can obtain a copy of the CD with instructions at NO COST! 

Dr. Bo Prosser, Coordinator of Congregational Formation with the CBF was our guest in the pulpit at both services on January 24.  The CD's with instructions, and suggested listening scheduled were distributed.  (NOTE: the CD is in mp3 format, or it can be played on a regular computer dvd player.)  This is a great opportunity for members of Providence and anyone who wishes to "hear" the entire New Testament.  You are invited to participate with the Providence Baptist community in this inter-generational opportunity.

Providence Baptist Church began in 1954 with a group of young families who had moved to the Cotswold community of south Charlotte.  At that time, Randolph Road was only two lanes, but houses were being built and those first families saw the potential for the development of this area of Charlotte and the need for a church.
