Pray for our City
This is a hard week for our city, and for all who long to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly in the way God has invited us to follow. In Scripture, the Lord instructs His people to “seek the welfare of your city and pray on its behalf, for in its welfare, you will find your welfare.” As a fellowship of Christian believers, then, we lift up our prayers for the family and friends of Keith Lamont Scott, for our civic leaders, and for all those charged with protecting the public safety. May God bring comfort, wisdom, healing, and courage in abundance where it is needed.
The anger, violence, hurt, and distrust in our city right now has a history. We acknowledge that history. While we pray for reconciliation, we also recognize that reconciliation is impossible without forgiveness, transformation requires repentance, and true healing begins when we confess our sins to one another and to God.
In a spirit of humility and hopefulness, the people of Providence Baptist Church join with our fellow citizens here in Charlotte who are earnestly seeking God’s blessing, God’s righteousness, and a more just community for all God’s children.

One may start out as just a member, but soon you realize you have become a part of a nurturing and loving family.
Providence is a welcoming and strong congregation with a heart for serving each other and the community, while building lasting relationships, and growing in our faith and understanding of Christ.
It's a second home where I can relax and have fun and worship God.
Providence is my “extended” family!
Worship at Providence is always meaningful to me, and touches some part of my life.
