Faith in Jesus is an all of life journey. As your child grows in their own life and faith, we want to mark important milestones. These serve as reminders that they can look back on to help us recognize the presence of God and the work of God’s people that has been with your family and has walked with your child from their very first days.
BABY
The prayers of Providence are with you and your baby from before your child is born. Our Children’s Ministry Team and volunteers are ready to welcome your newborn into our family of faith. Babies are welcome to come to church from the age of 6 weeks and older!
We celebrate the birth of newborns by placing a rosebud in the Narthex in honor of your baby. This rosebud and a Welcome Baby gift will be dropped off at your home. First visits are scheduled on your time - when you’re ready!
PARENT/CHILD DEDICATION
Each family with a young child is given the opportunity to dedicate themselves and their child to the Lord. These very special services are held during the morning worship service and are planned with the family. The church makes promises and the parents respond with promises of their own.
FIRST GRADE BIBLES
When each child is in 1st grade, they are presented with a Bible of their very own during the worship service. We encourage children to bring this Bible with them to church as we learn to study Scripture together!
ACOLYTE & BIBLE BEARER
We begin and end the Worship hour each week with children in 3rd-5th carrying the Word of God and the Light of Christ into our midst and reminding us that we follow and we carry the Light as we leave from this worship space.
Training is offered in the fall and spring semesters.
PASSPORTKID CAMPS
Children who have completed 3rd-5th grade are invited to attend an overnight camp!
PassportKids Camp is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about being the hands of Christ. Campers interact with other children from other churches throughout the southeast, making new friends, participating in worship, and discovering how big the Kingdom of God is.
WONDERFULLY MADE
5th graders and their parents are invited to join age appropriate conversations about the changes they are going through and how God loves them now and always.
GETTING READY CLASS
Getting Ready is a class for children who are curious about what it means to be a follower of Jesus, are wondering about baptism, and discovering their next steps.
Getting Ready is for children 2nd grade and older.
